God Already Knows

📖Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.””Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

🕊️Sometimes we become so concerned about what others think of us that we forget God already knows the truth.

Ananias and Sapphira wanted to give the appearance that they had surrendered everything, but they had secretly kept some for themselves. Keeping the money wasn't the problem. They had every right to do that. The problem was pretending they had done something they hadn't.

And we have to be careful not to do the same thing in our own lives.

We can say the right things, do good deeds, serve in church, and appear to be walking faithfully with God, but what is happening in our hearts?

God isn't asking us to put on a performance. He wants us to walk in truth.

We don't have to pretend to be further along in our walk with Him than we really are. I know I am not.

I can’t tell you what the 10th book of the Bible is like some ,nor do I have a lot of scripture memorized .It would be great if I did but I don’t and I am Okay with that. I just use the table of contents and I look it Up.God doesn’t care about that anyway he cares about the condition of my heart

I’m not saying that knowing Scripture is not important. I am saying that biblical knowledge is not a substitute for a heart that is surrendered to God.

We don't have to make ourselves appear more generous, more spiritual, or more obedient than we are.

God already knows where we are, what we struggle with, and what our motives are.

It's better to be honest about where we are than to pretend to be somewhere we are Not

And here's what I want to leave you with this morning:

Don't become so concerned with looking right before people that you forget to be honest before God.
