đź“–See that none render evil for evil unto any man but ever follow that which is good both among yourselves and to all men."1 Thessalonians 5:15 (KJV)
Sometimes the world has seen so much hurt that genuine kindness is met with suspicion. People begin to question every act of love and every helping hand because they expect there to be a hidden motive. As followers of Christ, our responsibility is not to change who we are because of how others respond. God calls us to continue doing good even when our kindness is misunderstood.
A caring heart does not need a secret agenda. Real love gives without expecting something in return. Real kindness serves without looking for recognition. Keep being the person God has called you to be. The right people will eventually recognize the sincerity of your heart, and even when they do not, God sees every act of compassion. Never allow someone else's distrust to stop you from reflecting the love of Christ. Your kindness may be the very thing that restores someone else's faith in people and reminds them that genuine goodness still exists.
